Mother Accused of Drowning Her Child Appears in Court


Prosecutors amended the complaint againt a mother accused of drowning her 8 year old daughter.

They adding a child abuse enhancement that could increase the sentence if Blair Stockdill is convicted.

Then the 25 year old agreed to waive her right to a speedy trial today after the judge agreed to postpone her arraignment for a second time.

Court records show that Stockdill has a criminal record and a history of mental illness but no mention of her mental state was made during the proceeding.

Alaina Stockdill's funeral was held earlier this month while her mother remained in jail on more than half a million dollars bail.

Blair Stockdill is now scheduled to be arraigned on December first.
